Title: No, there is no destiny for us

Summary: An alternate ending to star trek xi, that is not all that pleasant.

Disclaimer: I do not own Star Trek, and if I did and produced this little thing I would probably be dead by know.

Warnings: angst, character death.

Notes: I’m not sure if I like the way this turned out or not, but the idea came to me in the middle of the night and since then I haven’t been able to get it out of my head. Also, it's my first Star Trek fic ever.

Jim doesn’t believe it, can’t. This was not how it was supposed to happen.

He and Spock were supposed to get back on the Enterprise at the same time, they were supposed to do this thing and kick the bad guy’s ass together. It was all supposed to work, exactly like he told Spock just before they parted.

Jim wasn’t supposed to get beamed up with Pike at his side, bruised but alive, while Spock crashed into the Narada alongside his older counterpart’s ship. He wasn’t supposed to lose someone that was going to influence his life in the exact way that he lost his father.

There’s a collective sigh of relief when they make it out of the black hole and everyone is quite understandably elated to still be alive. That is, everyone except Jim and Uhura who have to watch an important person in their life get sucked into oblivion along with a homicidal madman. Jim can barely meet the communication’s officer’s eyes, afraid that she’ll blame him for this (and perhaps she should), so he opts to order the others to set a course for home. God knows they all need to get home.

Jim can’t seem to get a proper smile going when he gets his captaincy; it just comes out strained and painful looking. It’s stupid, because Jim has looked forward to this, longed for this. He is reaching one of his dreams and he’s proving everyone who thought he was just a useless failure wrong. But it doesn’t matter.

Pike gives him sympathetic looks through the whole ceremony, and maybe he understands what Jim is going through. But he probably doesn’t, because Jim hardly knows what this is himself.

There’s a hole in his life. A hole that he did not even realize existed until it was filled and then emptied again. It doesn’t make any sense, because Jim has never been one to dwell on such things as death and one special person’s ability to change you. Hell, he didn’t even like the man. Spock had annoyed him to no end, refused to see anything but his own logic, marooned him on an ice planet with ravenous man-eating monsters and then nearly strangled him to death.

He shouldn’t be mourning the Vulcan more than the numerous classmates that died in the battle, but he is.

Bones disappears quickly after all the ceremonies and reports are done and out of the way. He understandably needs to visit his daughter and ex-wife and Jim doesn’t blame him for leaving him all alone. He doubts there was anything that his best friend could have done anyway, apart from keeping him company while Jim drinks himself senseless. They have given him the Enterprise and a five-year mission aboard her, and he can’t even think about it without feeling that there is something fundamentally wrong with this universe.

That there is something fundamentally wrong with him.

The older Spock, the only Spock still left in this world, comes to his room at the academy a few days before they are to depart, probably to discuss the fact that Jim hasn’t chosen a first officer yet. Or possibly talk about the death of this world’s Spock and why Jim has been drunk the entire time since they got back.

The old Vulcan settles down gracefully on the floor next to the human where he’s leaning heavily on the side of the bed.

“Jim,” he says and looks at him with sad and tired eyes. Jim can’t even begin to fathom how this world’s Spock could turn into this gentle and relaxed man. But that doesn’t really matter; he is never going to see the change happen anyway.

Jim sees it coming but doesn’t even try to stop it, he isn’t quite sure if he wants it or not, but he doesn’t flinch when Spock’s fingers settle on the familiar spots on his face.

The images are brief and flash by almost too fast to catch, but the emotion behind them is real and strong and Jim doesn’t need more to understand the meaning behind them. The meaning behind the word echoing between their connected minds.

Friend, brother, lover. T’hy’la.

Jim’s face is wet when Spock pulls back and it nearly makes him laugh at the absurdity of it all. He doesn’t cry in front of other people, with an exception for Bones. He wipes at his cheeks while he tries to keep the hysterics down. He has never wanted or searched for what the meld showed him, yet now it feels as if his life is going to be infinitely less great without it.

“What am I supposed to do now?” His voice sounds so strained and broken that Jim himself flinches.

Spock looks at him for awhile and then simply says: “Live. Captain the Enterprise. Discover.”

“Without Spock?” Jim laughs, because there is nothing else to do. “I thought you said that it was of utmost importance that we would work together as a team and make the most epic bromance of all time.”

“It was, but that path is no longer possible. You have to create your own destiny now, one that is completely devoid of my presence. To do something else would simply be-”

“Don’t tell me,” Jim interrupts, hysterical laughter still bubbling in his throat. “It would be illogical, right?”

Spock doesn’t say anything, just continues to look at Jim with those expressive eyes of his.

“This is all so fucked up,” the man says and wipes at his wet cheeks tiredly; he can’t really say that he has come down from the emotional roller-coaster that has been his life since Nero attacked Vulcan. And it doesn’t seem as if he will for at least some time.

“It is certainly not the way it was supposed to happen, no,” Spock says quietly, concern etched on his face. “But if there is something I know in this life, it is that James T. Kirk does not give up. He makes the most of the situation and if there is something he does not like, he changes it to his own liking.”

“Well, I can’t bring Spock back, and I’m not the same guy as your Jim Kirk,” Jim says, irritated at being compared to a man that had had a completely different life from his, that couldn’t possibly be the same as he. Especially now.

“No, you are not, though you have many similarities,” the Vulcan agrees. “And I am not your Spock, though we too were much alike.”

“Yeah,” Jim breathes out in tired acceptance, even if that isn’t what he wants to hear. “Which is why you have to go to New Vulcan, and I have to get a hold of my self and find a new first officer.”

And face the entire crew and the endlessness of space all by himself.

Title: Forever can never begin

Summary: “After a few seconds, a lifetime, they hit land and the women somehow help him to stand up and Arthur sees. Sees the island of eternity, sees paradise, sees Avalon in all its glory. But mostly, he sees Merlin.”

A/N: This is a sequel to I’m not afraid to die, but when I die it won’t be the first time I wish that I was somewhere else (wow, that has to be the longest title ever). And once again it is unbeta’d.

Arthur strikes Excalibur deep and true within Mordred’s chest and watches the other man die with a fleeting sense of disappointment and a solid feeling of anger. Does the bastard have no sense of gratefulness; he, Merlin and Morgana had after all saved him from certain death. And here the druid boy had grown into a man who was trying to end Arthur’s life as a thank you. By the look and feel of the dagger sticking out of the king’s stomach he’s going to succeed at it too.

Arthur draws his sword out of Mordred’s body and sinks to his knees. Mordred has fallen on his back and is staring sightlessly at the sky. Arthur stares at the dagger and resists the urge to pull it out, he needs to stay focused a while longer.

“Sire!” A shout comes from the left and Arthur turns his head to see sir Bedevere come running towards him. “My king, you’re hurt!”

“Never mind that now, Bedevere,” Arthur says and brushes off the knight’s worried fretting. “I need you to do something for me.”

“Anything, sire, but I think you need to get help before I do said anything.”

“No, listen, Bedevere,” Arthur orders. “You need to take my sword and throw it into the lake.”

“Throw away Excalibur, sire?” Sir Bedevere looks extremely sceptical. “You’re not making any sense, your highness. I need to get you back to Camelot.”

“No,” Arthur barks, annoyed now. “You need to obey your king. Will you obey your king or will I see you as a traitor in the last moments of my life?”

Sir Bedevere looks torn for a short while but then grabs Excalibur firmly. “As you wish, sire.” He leaves.

Arthur lies back and grabs the hilt of the dagger; stomach wounds always hurt the worst.

Then sir Bedevere comes back and lies and Arthur has to send him away again. The second time the knight lies again and Arthur sends him scurrying away from his anger. Lord, it’s about as hard to get this man to do one simple thing as it was to get Merlin to do something useful back in the day. Minus the fun part of trading insults.

The third time the knight returns he speaks the truth. Arthur nods thankfully, sighs and pulls the dagger clean out. Sir Bedevere panics but Arthur can’t quite hear him, can only feel his life bleeding out of him in great bursts of blood. And he is at peace with the world, his life, his Albion.

Then, through the darkness of the forest around him and death closing in, there’s a light. Nine women gather around his dying body and lift him up in their arms, ever so gently, ever so softly. They carry him thorough the forest down to the lake and place him, ever so lightly, in a ship. They all sit down around him and the ship starts moving, seemingly without wind or the strength of arms.

After a few seconds, a lifetime, they hit land and the women somehow help him to stand up and Arthur sees. Sees the island of eternity, sees paradise, sees Avalon in all its glory. But mostly, he sees Merlin.

The warlock is standing on the shore, smiling serenely. He looks young and happy and healthy and, gods, Arthur has missed him. Merlin stretches out his white, slender hand towards him and the king can only stare at it.

He dares not take it. For Merlin is young, clean and whole and is wearing the finest blue robes that the king has ever seen on him and Arthur is old, bloody and grimy and is wearing a suit of armour that has definitely seen better days. He doesn’t want to taint him.

But the women urge him on and Arthur is forced to take Merlin’s hand so he won’t fall in the lake. But he needn’t have worried, for the second he steps upon Avalon his old strength flows through him again. The boat is slowly floating out from the shore with nine women smiling coyly at them, but Arthur doesn’t notice. He is to busy looking down at himself.

There’s no blood, grime or even armour left, only a set of kingly red robes that fit perfectly. On closer inspection the king’s hand in the warlock’s looks clean, soft and young again.

“You should probably close your mouth soon or everyone will think you’re an imbecile. It’s not very kingly.”

Arthur’s head snaps up to catch the smug smile spreading across Merlin’s lips. He narrows his eyes at the warlock and pulls his hand back.

“I’m sure they will think nothing of it,” Arthur replies, haughty expression in place. “After all, they have had to look at your moronic smile for years now. They are probably used to it.”

Arthur takes his time to watch the smile slip of Merlin’s face before he crushes the other man in a hug. “Merlin” he murmurs and breathes the other man in.

“Arthur” Merlin whispers back and returns the hug with equal strength. Gods, it’s been a long time since the king heard his name said from this man.

They stay like that for a while, clinging to each other. And there’s a strange feeling in Arthur’s chest, pressing to the point of bursting. He pulls away far enough to be able to look at the other man and Arthur watches the content glint in Merlin’s eyes, his rosy cheeks and the small, happy smile curling his lips upwards.

The feeling in the king’s chest grows and he absently touches his thumb to Merlin’s smile. It falters slightly and the warlock instantly looks vulnerable. Arthur tries desperately to catalogue whatever he’s feeling. It burns to far up to be lust, even though that’s an underlying stream waiting to rise. It’s strange, it’s kind of like Arthur always imagined being in love would feel like. Just much stronger.

“What are you doing, Arthur?” Merlin’s voice wavers slightly on the question.

“I think I…” he doesn’t dare say it. “I want to…”

Merlin raises an amused eyebrow at his stammering. “What do you want, Arthur?”

“I want to kiss you.” Merlin tenses up at that and tries to pull back, but Arthur keeps him in place.

“You don’t mean that,” the warlock protests and avoids the king’s eyes.

“Yes, I do,” Arthur says firmly. “I really, really want to kiss you right now.”

“Please don’t, Arthur. You know I lo-”

“Well, me too, so just shut up, you idiot. You know I’d never hurt you.” And without further ado Arthur presses their lips together.

At first Merlin freezes up and doesn’t respond, but then he gives up a small noise of defeat and starts kissing back with fervour. Arthur makes an appreciative moan and closes his eyes. And, naturally, Arthur has been physical with other people before, but none of it has ever felt like this. This desperation to get even closer, these sparks running up his spine, this light-headedness and this sense of completion.

Even so, he eventually has to pull back to get some oxygen; but he only does it so far that they can rest their foreheads together. Arthur opens his eyes and meets Merlin’s gaze, the warlock is staring at him with an expression mixed between hope and despair.

“If you don’t mean this, Arthur, I swear I’m going to-”

“Merlin,” the king interrupts firmly and tries, as he has done countless times before, to control his annoyance. “I know that you have always been a little slow to notice the obvious but, honestly, this just takes the prize.”

Merlin looks suitably confused. “What are you talking about?”

“I’m talking about the fact that I just died and that so far I have only taken one step onto Avalon. And the first thing I do, on Avalon, is to stand here and kiss you. This should, at least, be a humongous hint to the fact that I, for some entirely incomprehensible reason, am in love with you.”

At first Merlin only looks really shocked, but then a huge smile breaks out across his face. “But you’ve never been able to before. Your destiny-”

“Yeah well, I’m dead now. There’s no destiny deciding what I should and shouldn’t do anymore.” And as he says it he knows it’s true. For the first time in Arthur’s life, or existence rather, he actually feels free. The king matches the warlock’s smile with one of his own.

“So, are you going to kiss me now, or have you in some impossible manner managed to get over me?”

“You’re still a prat, I see” Merlin replies and shakes his head slightly. But he kisses his king anyway. Arthur’s heart swells in a new, entirely pleasant way and he knows that they will be here, like this, forever.

Or, you know, at least until the people in Albion can’t manage to get by without him anymore.

I'm slightly embarrassed that I wrote such a big pile of nothing but fluff, but the first part was so depressing to write that I had to do it. Hopefully it isn't too crappy.

Well, here's my first Merlin fic ever *is nervous*. It's unbeta'd so all the mistakes lie on my swedish head.

Merlin doesn’t know exactly when it happened, when he started to think of Arthur as anything except his destiny. Something he had to do, something that would somehow give meaning to his powers.

He can’t exactly say when his dreams were taken over by blue, blue eyes, golden hair and graceful, powerful movements. Can't say when he started to love Arthur as more than a friend.

He doesn’t recall when he started to value Arthur over everything, when he started to dread the prince’s death at the smallest sign of danger. Can’t recall when he started to press a hand against Arthur’s chest as often as he could just to make sure that he’s still breathing and that his heart continues to beat. That he’s alive.

Sometimes it feels like it has always been like that, that Merlin has done nothing else in his life. Everything blurs together and Merlin can’t answer his own questions.

He can however say exactly when he told Arthur about all of it, when he came clean about his feelings and magic because he couldn’t keep it in any longer. Couldn’t lie to Arthur anymore. He can say this because he has counted the days, the weeks, the months and the years since Arthur turned him down.

Merlin knows that he should have been more grateful that Arthur didn’t care that he could do magic, even respected Merlin for it. But it faded in comparison to the prince’s declaration that he didn’t love Merlin back in the same way. It wasn’t that Arthur was angry, irritated or even the slightest bit hostile. He was on the contrary quiet, careful and had had something like regret in his eyes as he told Merlin that he couldn’t see him in that way, but that the warlock always would be his closest, dearest friend. No matter what happens.

Merlin can recall precisely when he went down to the Dragon after fleeing from Arthur’s chambers; can remember the weather, the number of people that he passed, the smell of the dank, dark cave that the ancient creature rests in. can state the exact amount of time that has passed since the Dragon had blinked at him thoughtfully and then told him a piece of Arthur’s and his destiny that he had until then seen fit not to pass on.

It is Arthur’s destiny to love everyone and no one. And it is your destiny, Merlin, to love everyone and, more than anyone else, him.

Merlin hadn’t gone down to the cave for very a long time after that.

He can recall Arthur’s and Gwen’s wedding with perfect clarity. Can still feel the hurt and jealousy tearing at his insides. Even if he did know that they only did it because it was best for everyone. Gwen and Lancelot could be together and Arthur could be alone without having every nobleman’s daughter thrown at him. And, of course, get an heir.

Merlin had spent the wedding night in his room, lying on his bed trying to forget. He had only moved once; and then only to puke his guts out all over the floor.

And Merlin remembers all of it, the memories anchored in time and the ones not, as he lies on the battlefield with his life bleeding out of him from a big hole in his chest. But mostly he just remembers Arthur; his eyes, his strength and his smile.

And then he’s there. Merlin’s other half, his best friend, his king. His Arthur.

The king is kneeling down beside Merlin and pulling the warlock onto his lap. Arthur presses his hand against the gaping wound, but Merlin knows it’s too late. Feels it deep within himself. And he tells Arthur so.

“Don’t be an idiot, Merlin,” the king protests desperately. “It’s only a scratch. You’ll be fine.”

“No, I won’t.” Merlin looks up at the other man and he looks so lost, so broken, so young for such a great man. And, gods, Merlin has wished so many times that Arthur wouldn’t be like this. That he would be stupid, arrogant and everything that Merlin hates. That it wasn’t so clear that Merlin would have fallen for him destiny or not. But more times than that he has thanked whatever powers that have made Arthur the man he is. Thanked them for making him this great king and friend.

“All you have to do is let me go, Arthur.” Merlin smiles a small smile, trying to reassure. He is pretty sure he’s shaking, but Arthur is clinging onto him so hard he can hardly tell.

“Stop speaking nonsense.” Arthur’s eyes are wild and filled with tears. “If you as much as think about giving up I’m going to throw you in the stocks as soon as we get home. And if you do die, which you with all certainty aren’t going to do, I swear I’m going to march to whatever afterlife there is, drag you back, put you in the stocks for a year and provide everyone with as much rotten fruit as they can possibly throw.”

Merlin laughs, but quickly stops to cough as blood forces its way up his throat. Arthur looks even more worried than before, but Merlin just smiles.

“No, you won’t” he says, and he knows he’s speaking the truth. “You are going to rule this land a long time and you will guide

Albion through its greatest era. And you will be remembered as the king of kings and your story shall be passed on for generations.”

“It’s our story you stupid, clumsy, sorry excuse for an advisor and no one will remember you if you die now.”

Merlin smiles again and tries to not despair as his eyes start to blacken. Gods, he doesn’t want to leave him.

“Don’t leave me, Merlin.” Arthur seems to have noticed his fading gaze because he grabs the warlock’s face and leans closer. “What the hell am I supposed to do without you? Who is going to look after me so I don’t do anything stupid?”

“Your knights, Arthur, and Gwen,” he replies and tries to blink away the darkness looming in the corners of his eyes. “You’ll be fine without me.”

Arthur gazes at him for awhile and then sniffs haughtily. “Of course I will. You have always managed to cause as many problems as you have solved anyway. And I am king, you know. I’ll be just fine.”

And that, right there, is the Arthur he knows and loves. “You will.”

The king smiles, albeit a very wobbly one, and rests his forehead against the warlock’s. “I’m sorry, Merlin.”

And that is a surprise more than anything, for Merlin can count the number of times Arthur has apologized to him on one hand. “What for?”

Arthur doesn’t say, merely presses his lips softly against Merlin’s.

After a short while, an eternity, the king draws back. “I’m sorry for not being able to-” he swallows. “If I could, I think it would be you.”

Merlin can’t breathe and he can’t tell if it’s from the blood loss or the completely broken look on Arthur’s face. He curses destiny for doing this to the king, making it impossible for him to fall in love to insure that he puts

Albion before everything.

“It’s not you fault, Arthur,” Merlin says, quietly. “I don’t blame you.”

“Well, I do,” Arthur replies, and his voice breaks slightly over the words.

And then he kisses Merlin again. Merlin should probably be protesting because the king still doesn’t mean it in that way and it hurts. Tears at his insides as it always has. But he can’t, because it is all he has ever wanted and he’s lightheaded from the blood loss and Arthur and he can’t think. He can’t see either, so he closes his eyes and focuses on the king. For this is the first and last time he will ever be able to indulge in Arthur in this way. The king tastes distinctly of himself and blood and salt and Merlin’s lips are going numb and it’s perfect.

Merlin begins his journey to Avalon with the feel of his king’s lips against his own, the feel of his hand against his jaw and the taste of his tears on his tongue. He is content with his life.

And he is legend.

First RH fic ever.

Title: The art of acting

Pairing: Allan/Will

Rating: PG-13

Summary: Allan and Will find themselves running from the guards again, and things happen.

Disclaimer: Well, they obviously aren’t mine. So I’m just playing a bit with them.

Author’s notes: My first Robin Hood and Allan/Will fic, so please be merciful. There isn’t much plot in this one; I just wrote it to get the idea out of my head. Also, I’m from Sweden so there might be some grammatical errors and such, but hopefully not too many.

“Will!”

They’re running again. Running from the sheriff’s seemingly unending supply of guards, and as usual Allan is with him. The streets and the market place are full of people, it’s Wednesday, and they hurry quietly through the crowd.

“Quickly, in here” Allan whispers and drags Will behind a stall and presses him up against the stone wall of the castle.

“They’ll see us” Will protests and tries to get Allan to move again. “This is the worst hiding place you have ever picked.”

“Just shut up and play along” Allan mutters and stops Will’s attempt to start running again. And out of nowhere Allan juts his hip out to the side, puts his hand under his chin in a delicate gesture and trains his face into mild, innocent embarrassment.

“Oh, young man, stop embarrassing me with all this flattery!” Allan’s voice has risen to a dangerously high pitch and for a second Will can only stare at the other man.

“What are you doing?” he whispers desperately when he gets his tongue to work again and glances at the guards coming their way.

“Playing a girl” comes the answer in normal tones before Allan takes another deep breath and continues. “Oh no, you won’t be getting anywhere with that attitude!” He bats his eyelashes mercilessly.

“What kind of girls have you met in your life?” Will asks, because really, no sane woman would ever act like that. “Besides, you have a beard.”

“Ah-ha-ha, you are so funny!” Allan quips and smacks Will flimsily on the arm.

“Allan, stop it right now. It’s embarrassing” Will hisses and after glancing behind the other man “and the guards are coming for us. We need to move.”

“Just kiss me, you fool!” Allan exclaims dramatically and takes a firm grip around his neck to pull him down, and for a moment Will feels like punching the other man for taking this charade too far.

But then he catches the calm, serious expression on Allan’s face; and Allan’s eyes are steady and reassuring, shining impossibly blue. Will’s breath hitches in his chest as Allan brings his head down and kisses him gently, stubble rasping together in a sharp contrast to the softness of his lips. And all the while Allan is gazing at him steadily, awaiting his reaction.

Will’s heart is racing a-mile-a-minute as he lifts his hand and places it on the other man’s cheek, and kisses him back. Allan makes a relieved, appreciating sound in the back of his throat and pulls the carpenter closer. It doesn’t take long for the kiss to speed up, God knows how many times Will has thought about this and his body is tingling all over.

Still, his stomach twinges with nervousness as Allan licks Will’s lips, asking for entrance. But he pushes the worry down and lets the other man in. Allan’s tongue slides wet and hot against his and before he knows it, Will finds himself pressed up against the stone wall behind him and the older man aligning their bodies together.

Scratch tingling, he’s burning; and it’s too much and it’s too little and Will hardly knows what to do with himself except to get closer to the other man. And there’s fire everywhere they touch; in the wet juncture of their mouths, where their chests are pressed tightly together and where their legs tangle. Will desperately holds onto the back of Allan’s head, simultaneously grounding himself and keeping the other outlaw’s hood up.

Eventually Allan breaks the kiss and Will is panting like he’s just run twenty miles through thick terrain.

“I think they’re gone now” Allan says, himself rather breathless.

“Who?” Will asks, because his mind is reeling slightly and he’s still pressed against the other man, making it hard to concentrate.

“The guards, Will” Allan says, eyebrow raised and smile dangling in the corners of his mouth.

And Will doesn’t know if he wants to smack him for laughing at him or kiss him for looking so damned dishevelled and beautiful.

“Shut up” he murmurs instead and Allan’s grin widens.

“So” he says and gently sways them back and forth on the spot “do you want to continue this somewhere else?” Allan’s tone is light and the grin is still playing at his lips, but it isn’t really reaching his eyes and his breathing has stilled somewhat, like he’s holding it in.

Will realizes that the thief is worried about his reaction, and he wonders slightly when he started to see through Allan’s acts.

“Yeah” he merely says though and smiles a little himself.

“Well, come on then” Allan says and the grin reaches his eyes now with full force. He lets his arms slip from around Will’s waist, but grabs Will’s hand in his own and proceeds to drag him into the mass of people. “Robin will expect us to be back at least by midday.”

“Beastboy’s in love with me?” Robin stared at Raven.

“Yes, that’s why he’s been avoiding people, he was afraid that they’d find out.”

“Oh” Robin managed to get out. Raven studied him for a minute.

“To be honest I thought you would be more upset about it, or at least that you would hurry after him and say that you weren’t interested” she said.

“Uh, well I-“ Robin blushed and looked down.

“Of course” Raven said sighing and massaged her temples tiredly “you’re in love with the fool too aren’t you?” Robin blushed even more. “Why am I surrounded by idiots?” Raven asked the night. “So where is he now?”

“I don’t know, he disappeared after he kissed me” Robin responded.

“We better find him and deal with this mess” Raven said and reached for her communicator “we have a villain on the loose too you know. Beastboy come in.” Static. “Beastboy answer me.” Static. “He’s not picking up.”

“Should I try mine?” Robin asked.

“That won’t be necessary.”

Robin and Raven froze. The voice coming from the communicator wasn’t Beastboy’s, nor any of the other members. It sounded like-

“Robin, how nice to hear your voice. I’m a big fan you know.”

Robin snatched the communicator out of Raven’s hand. “Who are you and what the hell have you done to Beastboy?” he demanded.

“Now, now there’s no need to get angry, even if you look terribly cute when you are” not-Robin said and giggled. “I’m not going to kill him, yet.”

“If you as much as touch him-“

“Don’t you understand Robin?” not-Robin interrupted. “I’m doing this for your own good. The green one is not worthy of you, but still he thinks dirty thoughts about you; therefore he must be killed. The only one who deserves you is me.”

“You bastard, once I find you-“

“Oh, you won’t find me even though you’re you, I will take the animal to a safe place.”

“He’s not an-“

“And about who I am, for I am sure you’re just dying to know who this genius is by now, I don’t have a name. For I am nobody and everybody. Goodbye Robin.”

Static.

The communicator broke in Robin’s hand.

Raven put a heavy hand on his shoulder.

“We’ll find him” she said with grim determination.

Beastboy awoke in a dark, dank room. The back of his head ached and he groaned as his eyes adjusted to the darkness. He was stuck to the wall with some kind of metal spreading his arms and legs wide.

Beastboy tried to wiggle his arms, but to no use. But there was no reason to get down because of that, he’d be able to change and slip out of his holdings.

So he concentrated, but nothing happened. He tried again and nothing.

“You won’t be able to change with that metal on you.”

Not-Robin was sitting in a corner of the room apparently watching something on a screen.

“What do you want with me?” Beastboy asked and glared at the other’s back.

“Get you out of Robin’s way” not-Robin answered and continued to watch the screen.

“Why? It’s not like I’m bothering him more than usual or interrupts his training or anything like that.”

“No, but you have fallen in love with him, and we can’t have that can we?” not-Robin said and finally turned from the screen to walk over to Beastboy.

“Who are you to decide who Robin deserves” Beastboy retorted angrily “besides, Robin would never be with you. You’re a criminal.”

“Oh, he won’t care about me being a criminal. After all, I can be whoever he dreams of having for himself without the tiresome troubles of love” not-Robin said with a sly smile.

“What do you mean?” Beastboy asked perplexed.

“I’m a shape-shifter, animal. I can turn into whoever I please” not-Robin explained.

“Oh” Beastboy said and let the news sink in. “But what do you really look like?”

Not-Robin drew back. “I don’t have a face of my own.”

“Well, you have to look like something; I mean how did you look when you were born?”

“Exactly like my twin-sister.” Not-Robin said, voice full of bitterness.

“Isn’t that your face then?” Beastboy pointed out, because this fellow was kind of weird and it was probably good to stall him so he wouldn’t kill him right away. Plus, he or she was kind of interesting, not like their usual bad-guys. “Twins usually look like each other.”

“No, I’m not her. First of all we weren’t identical twins, I merely looked like her cause she was the first person I ever met besides mother” not-Robin said and looked down. “Besides, why would I receive her scars when she did not get mine?”

Not-Robin stared at Beastboy for a moment as if he should know the answer and he lowered his head uncomfortably. He had no experience like the one in front of him had.

“Not to forget the fact that no body ever really feels right.” Not-Robin looked almost disgusted now and Beastboy almost forgot that he was supposed to be angry at the person.

“But that doesn’t give you the right to decide anything about Robin.”

“I guess not, but since when do criminals need permission?” The smile was back on not-Robin’s lips and he stepped closer to Beastboy. “I know almost everything there is to know about Robin’s public face but almost nothing about his private one; so I was thinking that you could fill in the gaps for me. After all, who’s better to ask than the one in love with him?”

“I’ll never tell you anything” Beastboy spat at the other.

“We’ll see about that.” Not-Robin sneered.

“Beastboy’s been kidnapped by who now?”

The Titans had gathered in the tower to discuss the situation.

“Apparently a rabid fan of Robin” Raven answered Cyborg’s outburst. “It said it didn’t have a name.”

“It’s a shape-shifter” Robin said. He was standing at the window with his back to the others. He clenched and unclenched his fists; he needed to go now.

“I’ll check if there are any reports about him…her, er, it on the Internet. See if there’s any advice about how to take this thing” Cyborg said and plugged himself in on his computer.

Robin whirled around. “I don’t care about advices; we need to get out there now! I want it dead.”

“In jail you mean” Cyborg corrected his leader with an arched eyebrow.

“Yes, in jail, whatever” Robin said and turned around again. “I just want Beastboy back.”

Cyborg turned to Raven for answers.

“He blames himself” she stated.

Robin’s shoulders tensed but he held back the retort. He needed to calm down, to think rationally. They needed a plan. But God knew what the pervert was doing to Beastboy, Robin felt sick at the thought.

A hand landed on his shoulder and Robin looked over it and met Starfire’s eyes.

“Beastboy will be fine” she said and smiled encouragingly. “He is strong, he can take care of himself.”

Robin nodded but didn’t feel any better.

“I found something!” Cyborg interrupted and came over. “The police have had troubles with it before, they call it Nameless. It has stolen some stuff and caused some general destruction. They have never been able to catch it; it blends into crowds too well.”

“I see” Robin said and stared unseeingly out at the city. “So, keep it out of crowds and we should be fine.”

“Exactly” Cyborg agreed.

“We should start at the spot that Nameless contacted us from and then search further” Robin said, glad that they were getting somewhere.

“All right, let’s go.”

“What are you going to do? Torture me?” Beastboy met not-Robin’s gaze steadily.

“Well we could do that” not-Robin was highly enjoying this “or we could do something else.”

“What do you mean?” Beastboy asked, suspicious.

“Violence is so filthy and degrading, and just because you’re an animal doesn’t mean you have to die like one” not-Robin said with a slightly disgusted grimace.

“I’m not an animal!”

“So” not-Robin ignored the comment with a sneer “I thought that I could reward you instead.”

“Reward me?”

“After all, I do look like Robin and you have been dying to touch him for some time now.”

“I wouldn’t want you to touch me even if it saved my life” Beastboy declined, disgusted.

“Are you sure?” not-Robin asked and moved his face close to Beastboy’s. “You sure you don’t want a kiss?”

Beastboy drew his head back and smashed it into it’s face as an answer.

Not-Robin stumbled backwards. He raised a hand to his forehead and laughed.

“It seems I underestimated you a little bit” it said and watched Beastboy, amused.

“There is no point in touching his body if the only thing inside of it is you.”

“So I can’t offer you the touch of his body then” not-Robin said and thought for a moment. “Then, how would you like to see his eyes?”

Beastboy’s heart stopped cold in his chest.

The Teen Titans were standing in a dark alley seemingly at a loss of what to do.

“Now would be a good time to have Beastboy with us” Raven commented.

“Yeah, well he isn’t” Robin snapped. He was holding Beastboy’s broken communicator in his hand and was desperately trying to keep the panic away. They didn’t have a clue about where their missing team member was being held, he could be anywhere in the city.

“There’s no need to start attacking each other” Cyborg said and glared at Robin.

“I’m sorry but I need to find him” Robin said and tried to keep his breaking voice in check.

“What’s the matter with you today? We all want to find him.” Cyborg studied his leader suspiciously.

“I just…”

“Friends, I believe I have found something.” Starfire was standing at the beginning of another, thinner alley. “It seems to be some kind of trail.”

Cyborg walked over to her and held out his arm over said trail. “It’s saliva.”

“You mean like drool?” Raven asked and kept herself in the background.

“Yeah” Cyborg answered with a spark of hope in his voice. “Beastboy’s drool.”

“Then what are we waiting for?” Robin said and stepped into the alley, an insane sort of giddiness filling him. “Let’s follow the trail of human mucus.”

The trail led them out of the city and into the desert. Then in the middle of nowhere it stopped like it had been cut off.

“Do you think it noticed him drooling and stopped it?” Starfire asked nervously.

“No” Cyborga answered “there’s metal under us; there must be some kind of entrance here.”

“Do you think you can open it Raven?” Robin asked.

“Naturally”

Beastboy stared at not-Robin.

To tell the truth Beastboy had always wondered what Robin’s eyes looked like, and it had been the topic in many of his dreams lately. For a moment he actually considered telling not-Robin something, just to see what colour they were before he died.

But then, in time for keeping him from making a mistake, the wall at the other side of the room exploded.

Not-Robin whipped around and was faced with the view of the Teen Titans ready for battle, and the leader looked especially pissed off.

Beastboy felt a rush of relief as he saw his friends; they had come to save him. Although, the feeling ebbed away a bit as he saw how furious Robin looked, he’d probably come to kick both of their asses.

Not-Robin on the other hand, was now smiling broadly.

“You found me, I must say I’m impressed” it said and nodded approvingly. “May I enquire as to how you managed it?”

“That’s none of your business” the real Robin said and stepped into the room. “We’re here to bring Beastboy back, whether you want to do it the easy or hard way is entirely your decision.”

“Always so feisty” not-Robin said and laughed. “You should be careful though, I know everything there is to know about the way you fight. You will have no chance to win if you choose to fight me.”

Now it was Robin’s turn to smile. “But I’m not the one who’s going to fight you, they are.” He jerked his thumb back at the other three; they all grinned gleefully.

Not-Robin’s smile faltered a tiny bit.

“But surely you wouldn’t fight your own leader” it said and tried to hide the glimmer of fear in his eyes. “Would you really be able to beat his face bloody?”

“Oh, I think I can manage something” Cyborg said and cricked his neck. “He really is quite a pain in the ass sometimes.”

“Yeah” Raven agreed “and he seems to think that he’s always right about everything.”

“Exactly!” Starfire chimed in. “And I have been wanting to kick his stupid butt ever since he broke up with me.”

Not-Robin backed a few steps and swallowed hard.

Beastboy could barely contain the grin spreading across his face as he heard the team members complaining about their leader out in the open.

Not-Robin had reached the wall and stretched out his hand to reach something behind an old bookshelf.

“Uh-uh” Raven said and promptly smashed the bookshelf onto not-Robin’s arm.

Then everybody moved.

Robin ran along the walls to avoid the battle going on in the dark room. Soon he reached Beastboy.

“Are you okay?” he asked as he took his staff and started to smash Beastboy’s holdings.

“Yeah” Beastboy answered in a small voice.

Robin destroyed the last holding and looked at the other boy; he was looking down and blushing intensely. He felt a smile tug at his lips. The worry eating away at his guts was gone and Beastboy was alright. There was only one thing that could make this day any better.

“Listen” Beastboy said and continued to stare at the floor “I understand if you want me to move-“

Robin didn’t want to hear it, and therefore he pushed the other boy into the wall and pressed their lips together instead.

It took barely two seconds for Beastboy to realise what was happening and start kissing wildly back. Robin groaned his relief and pulled the other boy even closer to himself.

“Wow, they’re really going at it” Cyborg said and stared at the other male members of the team.

Nameless was lying on the floor completely forgotten (they seemed to have been a little bit too rough on it).

“I can’t seem to look away” Starfire said as she looked at the couple intently, not missing a second.

“If you’re interested I’ve got some good stuff stored in my brain” Raven replied and smiled a lazy smile.

Well, here comes my first Teen Titans fanfic ever.

Title: The best way to get a team leader to show his true feelings. (Part a)

Beastboy was a proud member of the Teen Titans. He had four great friends, superpowers to kick butt with, he lived in a bitching house with everything he could ever want and he got to save people and contribute to society on a daily basis. All in all it was a very sweet life, there was only one problem.

Beastboy was now seventeen and for awhile he had gotten urges. Urges for another member of the team, a member that wasn’t female nor half-robot. And it wasn’t normal hang-out-and-play-computer games-with friendly urges. No, it was dark-let’s-never-ever-let-anyone-know-unless-you-want-to-die-an-early-death urges, and it was quite frankly driving Beastboy mad.

Beastboy was sitting on the roof of the Titans Tower. Not because he was hiding (in a place that you could only fly up to without making a lot of noise), no because he was enjoying the spectacular, spectacular view of the city. He was meditating, not thinking about a certain someone nor worrying about too tight clothes. He was the freaking picture of calm himself.

“AAAAAAARGH!”

“Would you keep it down? There’s no need to burst my eardrums.” Raven had appeared out of the roof in her own sneaky manner, and she looked grimmer than usual.

“Did you want something Raven?” Beastboy asked when he managed to get his heart out of his throat.

“Yeah, to talk” Raven answered and sat down beside him.

“Oh, about what?” Beastboy asked nervously.

“Everyone wonders why you’re up here. They’re worried about you” Raven explained as she stared out at the city.

“Really? Then why did you come?”

“I volunteered” she answered coolly. “None of them seems to understand what the problem is.”

Dread filled Beastboy, she knew. “Wh-what do you mean?” Denying everything almost never worked but it was the only tactic to get out of this. “What problem?”

“So” Raven continued completely ignoring Beastboys attempts at innocence “when were you planning on telling him?”

“What are you talking about? Telling what to whom?” Denial, denial all the way. If everyone found out about this he could just as well commit seppuku right on the spot.

“Telling Robin that you’re in love with him” Raven continued.

“Who’s Robin? I’m afraid I don’t know-“

“If you deny it one more time I will break your back in two and the go tell him myself.”

Beastboy drew back in horror. “You wouldn’t” he said, betrayed.

“Oh, yes I would, and you know it.” Beastboy cursed under his breath, she would most definitely do it.

“How did you know?” he asked giving in and changing the subject.

“Well, it was kind of obvious in the way you stayed behind to watch Robin when he trained, blushed whenever he touched you and how you seemed to loose every joke you know when he wanted to hear one.”

Beastboy cringed, when he came to think about it it was a miracle that the others hadn’t noticed anything.

“And then there were the dreams that you seemed to be broadcasting to everyone with telepathic gifts.”

“You saw those?” Beastboy asked, horrified as warmth flooded his cheeks.

“They were very vivid” Raven provided mercilessly. “So, telling him when?”

Beastboy raked a hand through his hair to keep it out of his eyes (yes, he had kept it long because Robin had said it suited him) and sighed. “I don’t know, I was kind of planning on taking the secret to my grave” he said heavily.

“I don’t think that’s a good idea” Raven commented “besides I bet you’ll be surprised at his reaction.”

“Yeah, I’ll be surprised when he shoves his fist through my chest proving that he indeed has inhuman strength” Beastboy said gloomily.

“Or he can just show you that he’s a good friend” Raven replied and stood. “Now stop worrying and go do something about it.” The next second she was gone.

After a while Beastboy flew down and stumbled upon Robin in the living room.

“Beastboy, trouble” he announced.

“What kind of trouble?” Beastboy asked as he nervously approached the titan. Being all alone in a room with him wasn’t his favourite hobby these days.

“There’s a new guy wreaking havoc in town, he mostly seems intent on causing as much panic as possible” Robin explained. “The others are already trying to locate him; I thought we should team up.”

“Oh, okay” Beastboy said and swallowed hard. “Which part did we get?”

“East.”

“Let’s get going then” Beastboy said hurriedly and turned around to fly out the window. He couldn’t stay in this room much longer. Because then he would start noticing the way the cape fell over Robin’s shoulders, the way his nose crinkled when he smiled and the way he held himself, like there was nothing that could ever keep him down. And when that happened tights was never a good thing to wear.

But Robin put a hand on his shoulder before he could change and turned him around again.

“Wait BB” he said and smiled a small smile “before we go I just wanted to say that I talked to Raven.”

“You did?” A ball of fear settled in Beastboy’s stomach.

“Yeah, and she told me what’s going on.”

“Really?” His voice was reaching a dangerously high pitch as he stared at Robin in horror. He knew; everything was lost.

“Yep, she explained everything” Robin assured him with a smile that Beastboy only know realised was murderous and malicious.

This was the end. This was the end of Beastboy the great, the funny-dude, the green and the strikingly handsome. Here, at the hands of robin the youngest, handsomest superhero without superpowers, he would suffer his inevitable, gory death. And when Robin had washed all the dirty blood and various body parts off his handsome self he would go and marry Starfire, get lots of babies and show everyone that he indeed was a manly man-man.

“Beastboy?” Robin said. “Are you listening?”

But he wasn’t listening; he was merely staring at Robin’s lips moving. Then he got the idea. He should kiss the other titan. It was the perfect death, since Robin would have a manly fit of rage and kill Beastboy with one blow.

“Beastboy! Are you in there?” Robin asked and waved his hand in front of Beastboy’s eyes.

Instead of giving him an answer he grabbed Robin’s hand, pulled him forward and let their lips touch softly. Beastboy concentrated hard on imprinting the feeling in his memory. Robin went stiff as a pole as soon as they touched and before he had time to strike beastboy ran to the window and jumped. He let out a small sigh of relief as he let his bones grow light and his skin divide into feathers.

Robin stood frozen to the spot. Had what just happened really happened? He gingerly unfroze his arm and reached for the communicator.

“Raven”

“Yes”

“We need to talk.”

Beastboy landed at the end of a conveniently dark alley. As feathers melted into skin and bird limbs became boy limbs Beastboy let the panic take hold. He had just kissed Robin. The freaking leader of the Teen Titans, the one who was wildly known to obsess about people that showed even a tiny threat towards him, and he had been so shocked to his masculine-formed core that he hadn’t been able to kill Beastboy before he escaped. Now there was only one thing to do; run like his life depended on it (which it actually did). Maybe he’d go to Africa and live in the jungle with the monkeys, he’d probably be a hit with the green thing.

Suddenly there was a clatter in the alley behind him and Beastboy quickly turned around and readied himself.

“Who’s there?” he asked the darkness. Maybe it was the new bad guy who had just happened to stumble upon him. “Show yourself.”

But the one who stepped out of the shadows wasn’t a monster or a criminal, it was Robin.

Beastboy immediately tried to run but Robin anticipated the move and grabbed his arm before he could get away.

“Wait BB” he said calmly “I just want to talk to you.”

Beastboy turned around but didn’t dare look his leader in the face. “You don’t have to say anything” he said as he stared at the ground. “I understand, I’ll leave the city so you won’t have to live with me.”

Robin snorted and Beastboy looked up, surprised. “You’re my friend Beastboy, you having a crush on me isn’t going to change that.”

“Oh” Beastboy said and blushed fiercely “but-“

“Come here” robin cut him off and pulled him into a hug. Robin laughed as Beastboy stumbled against him, and he could feel a familiar warmth fill his chest. He gripped Robin’s cape loosely in his arms and took a deep breath. Everything would be okay now. He didn’t understand how he was going to get over Robin though, when he couldn’t get enough of his laughter, his strength and his sme – wait a minute. This was not the way Robin smelled.

Beastboy tried to move away from the other but not-Robin was holding him in an iron grip.

“Trying to get away are we? And I thought you liked this guy.” Beastboy pushed against his chest but couldn’t for the life of him get away. Not-Robin laughed and now Beastboy was sure, Robin could never laugh like that.

“Well know that you’ve figured it out I suppose we’ll have to do this the hard way.” And before Beastboy could collect his mind and change something hard connected with the back of his head; and everything went black.

So here's a fic I wrote in 8th grade. It is the first slash fic I've ever written.

Jag heter Esaias Ahl och är 15 år. Jag har blont, kort hår och blåa ögon. Jag är ganska medellång och är en ganska pratig människa. Jag gillar att skejta, spela basket och lyssna på punkrock. Det är ungefär allt du behöver veta om mig för att läsa den här historien, förutom då att jag går på Snilleskolan i Lund där den här berättelsen börjar.

Det var en vanlig måndagsmorgon kl.8 på svenskan. Jag satt och pratade med min bästa polare Pedda. Han hade nyss köpt en ny skateboard och ville att jag skulle komma och kolla på den(han gillar att stila). Vår fröken fru Bengtsson kom in och hälsade leende på alla förutom mig som hon stirrade på som om jag var något katten hade spytt upp. Jag vet inte riktigt varför hon hatar just mig. Det kan vara för att jag körde på henne med skateboarden en gång så att hon bröt benet, men det borde hon ju ha kommit över vid det här laget.
Hon tittade ut över klassen och sa:
”Idag kommer det en ny elev hit till klassen och jag förväntar mig att ni alla är snälla mot honom.” Hon stirrade menande på klassens mest högljudda och obegåvade kille, nämligen själva Hans Andersson även kallad Rabies. Han flinade bara lite och hon fortsatte:
”Han kommer från Japan och är väldigt begåvad i skolan.” Hon vände sig om och öppnade dörren på glänt. ”Du kan komma in nu” sa fru Bengtsson ut i korridoren och öppnade dörren helt. In kom en ganska lång kille med halvlångt brun/svart hår och stora bruna ögon. Han hade på sig en vit, kortärmad skjorta och svarta jeans. Han såg väldigt generad ut. Det var några som skrattade och jag tittade argt på dem, det är faktiskt väldigt jobbigt att byta skola (jag gjorde det när jag var nio).
”Tyst i klassen” sa fröken bestämt ”så nu kan du presentera dig.” Han såg väldigt besvärad ut och trampade nervöst med fötterna.
”Jag heter Mitsuru Yamabuki och kommer från Helsingborg” sa han tyst ”mina föräldrar kommer från Japan om ni undrar över namnet.” Han tystnade och tittade ner i golvet. Jag log lite för mig själv, han var verkligen nervös. Lite gulligt…
Vänta ett tag, tänkte jag just att en kille var gullig? Eeeeeh, jag var nog bara lite trött. Sen tänkte jag inte mer på det.
Mitsuru kollade på fröken och hon tittade tillbaka. Hon verkade inte fatta. Efter ett tag ryckte hon till och sa:
”Du kan sätta dig där bredvid Esaias.” Jag ryckte själv till. Var han tvungen att få platsen bredvid mig? Det var så skönt att kunna bre ut sig över ett helt bord.
”Hej” sa Mitsuru när han satte sig ner.
”Tja” sa jag tillbaka ”välkommen till klass 9A.”
”Tack” sa han och log.
Pedda drog lite i armen på mig och jag vände mig mot honom.
”Lapp från Rabies” viskade han och räckte mig en ihop skrynklad lapp. Det stod:
”Kan man se mer bögig ut eller?” Jag kollade bort mot Rabies och han flinade mot mig. Jag skakade på huvudet och kastade lappen i ansiktet på honom.
”Vad håller du på med Esaias Ahl?” skrek fröken. Ojsan, hon upptäckte visst mig.
”Öh, jag fick bara lite kramp i armen” svarade jag nervöst.
”Det där går jag inte på!” skrek hon tillbaka. ”Upp till rektorn med en gång!” Jag suckade nedstämt, då var det dags igen. Jag samlade ihop mina saker och gick.

När jag kom fram till kontoret knackade jag på dörren. Rektorn öppnade med en gång.
”Jaså det är du igen” sa hon och såg lite besviken ut. ”Jaja, kom in.”
Jag gick in och satte mig på stolen framför skrivbordet.
”Vad har du gjort den här gången då?” frågade hon när hon satte sig ner.
”Jag kastade en lapp i huvudet på Hans” svarade jag. Hon suckade.
”Var det bara det? Din fröken har verkligen något emot dig. Du kan sitta och arbeta med lite skolprogram på datorn.”

När timmen var slut gick jag tillbaka till mitt skåp. Jag såg Pedda och ropade på honom. Han stannade.
”Tja” hälsade jag ” vad gjorde ni då?”
”Vi ska börja arbeta om olika svenska författare” svarade han.
”Okej, ska vi jobba ihop eller?” frågade jag och dunkade honom i ryggen.
”Öh, nej ” sa han tveksamt ”du blev ihop parad med den nya killen.”
”Åh nej” sa jag dystert ”då kan jag inte låta honom göra allt jobbet.”
”Bra” sa Pedda och flinade ”då kanske du får in nåt nytt i skallen.”
”Lägg av” sa jag surt ”var är han förresten?” Vi hade nu kommit ut på skolgården.
”Han är där borta” sa Pedda och pekade ”Rabies och hans gäng är med honom.”
”Åh nej” sa jag och började springa. Varför jag brydde mig så mycket vet jag inte men jag fick i alla fall en känsla av att jag inte ville att han skulle komma till skada. Kanske för att jag skulle få skriva hela arbetet om det hände någonting.
När jag kom fram hade den traditionella puttningen börjat.
”Lägg av” sa jag högt och ställde mig framför Mitsuru.
”Vad vill du skejtapa?” sa Rabies argt. Typiskt honom att komma med de sämsta anklagelserna på hela jorden.
”Kan du inte sluta? Det är ingen mening med det.”
”Det är det väl” fortsatte han och försökte se ner på mig (men det gick inte så bra eftersom jag är tio centimeter längre än honom). ”Ser du inte att han är bög?”
”Hur fan kan du se det?” undrade jag ”och vad skulle det vara för fel om han var det?”
Rabies stod tyst en stund.
”Öh” stammade han ”för att det är äckligt.”
”Lamt Rabies” svarade jag och log ”så mycket som du pratar om det kanske du är det själv.”
Han blev mållös. Folk brukade inte käfta emot honom.
”Det är jag inte alls det” sa han tyst och sprang sedan snabbt iväg. Hans gäng följde efter lite osäkert. Jag log för mig själv.
Mitsuru harklade sig bakom mig och jag vände mig mot honom. Han log och sa:
”Tack, du hade inte behövt göra det.”
”Jaså?” sa jag ”det såg ut som om du behövde lite hjälp. I alla fall måste vi prata om samarbetet på svenskan.”
”Just det” sa han och knäppte med fingrarna ”vi fick Gull Åkerblom.”
”Har jag aldrig hört talas om” sa jag glatt ” i alla fall så heter jag Esaias Ahl.”
”Trevligt att träffas” sa han och vi skakade hand. ”Vill du gå till biblioteket?”
”Visst, jag måste sätta exempel nu när du är ny.”
”Det går nog bra ändå” sa han och skrattade.

Under resten av måndagen, tisdagen och onsdagen var vi tillsammans och gjorde en massa saker. Till exempel försökte jag att lära honom skejta, han var helt hopplös. Vi köpte lite nya kläder till honom så att han såg coolare ut. Han försökte lära mig japanska men jag fattade ingenting. De var några av de roligaste dagarna jag hade varit med om på länge. Men så hände någonting på torsdagsmorgonen som förstörde det hela.

Klockan var nio och hela klassen var i simhallen. Jag hade bytt om och skulle just hoppa i när Mitsuru vände sig mot mig och sa:
”Ska vi dyka i då?” När jag mötte hans blick hände något märkligt. Jag blev helt varm i kroppen och jag märkte att något höll på att hända i mina badbyxor.
”Fasen också” tänkte jag och såg mig vilt omkring.
”Kommer du någon gång eller?” frågade Mitsuru, satte handen på höften och lutade sig på ena benet. Och man kan lugnt säga att det inte hjälpte med situationen. Jag försökte desperat komma på en ursäkt för att gå. Jag tog mig för näsan och sa:
”Jag tror att jag har fått näsblod, simma på du bara.” Sedan rusade jag ut i duschrummet medan jag mumlade:
”Kall dusch, kall dusch, måste ha en kall dusch.”
Väl i duschen sa jag för mig själv:
”Fasen också, jag är attraherad av en kompis, och en killkompis också! Om jag säger det här kommer han att hata mig för evigt. Det enda jag kan göra nu är att undvika honom så mycket som möjligt.”

När jag kom ut i simhallen igen var det dags för livräddning. Som tur var så blev jag ihop parad med Rabies. Visst han försökte dränka mig men det var bättre än att avslöja sig för Mitsuru.

På bussen satt jag med Pedda och han undrade om jag ville följa med och skejta på eftermiddagen, jag sa genast ja. Jag vågade inte gå hem med Mitsuru. Resten av lektionerna gjorde jag så att jag åkte upp till rektorn så att jag inte behövde sitta bredvid honom. På rasterna sa jag att jag skulle skejta och sprang iväg. Det var ganska jobbigt, varje gång jag såg honom trodde jag att det skulle hända igen.
När skolan var slut skyndade jag mig hem till Pedda och vi skejtade hela dagen. Det var otroligt skönt. Folk borde prova det när de är stressade.

När jag kom hem stupade jag ner i sängen, det hade varit en hektisk dag. Fast Mitsuru hade sett bra ut i de där badbyxorna…
”AAAAAAAAARGH!” skrek jag.
Min storebror kom genast inspringande i rummet med ett basebollträ i handen.
”Var är den? Var är den?” skrek han.
”Vad pratar du om?” frågade jag.
”Öh, the grudge” sa han skamset.
”Du kollar på för mycket skräckfilmer” suckade jag ”vill du att jag ska sova hos dig?”
”Ja tack” viskade han.
Inte konstigt att jag har blivit som jag är med en storebror som skriker som en tjej och är mörkrädd. Snacka om barndomstragedi. I alla fall sov jag gott den natten.

Nästa dag kändes det som om jag var paranoid när jag gick till skolan, jag tittade mig omkring hela tiden. Precis när jag trodde att jag var i säkerhet tog han tag i mig bakifrån. Jag hoppade till och vände mig snabbt om och mötte hans blick. Jag tänkte säga någonting för att komma undan men han avbröt mig.
”Varför undvek du mig hela dagen igår?” frågade han och stirrade på mig.
”Öh” stammade jag.
”Vill du inte vara vän med mig längre eller?” pressade han på.
”Nej det är inte det” svarade jag desperat ”det är bara det att det nog inte är bra för dig att vara nära mig.”
”Varför inte det?” Han såg skeptisk ut.
”Öh, det kan jag inte svara på.”
”Det var den sämsta ursäkt jag någonsin har hört” sa Mitsuru argt och stormade iväg.
”Fasen också” muttrade jag. Jag ville inte såra honom.

När jag kom in i klassrummet hade Mitsuru flyttat till borden längst bak. Jag satte mig bredvid Pedda och han hejade på mig. Rabies och de andra ignorerade mig.
Fröken kom in och började prata om någonting som hände i Egypten för längesen. Som vanligt på historian var det ingen som lyssnade. Rabies och de andra började prata. Jag lyssnade inte, jag kände mig dum mot Mitsuru.
Plötsligt hörde jag att Rabies sa:
”Såg ni Mitsurus badbyxor igår? Han är bara för bögig.”
”Har du inget annat att göra än att tracka honom hela tiden?” frågade jag .
”Du då?” svarade han tillbaka ”såsom du beskyddar honom är du väl kär.” Naturligtvis började alla sjunga ”Esaias är kär i Mitsuru, Esaias är kär i Mitsuru” osv. Folk i skolan har verkligen inget liv.
”Håll käften” sa jag men de slutade inte. Fröken försökte säga till men det gick inte, klassen var för uppspelt. Rabies ställde sig upp och skrek så högt att hela skolan måste ha hört det:
”Esaias är kär i Mitsuru!”
”Ja tänk för att jag är det!” skrek jag tillbaka.
Det blev knäpptyst i klassrummet. Utan att märka det hade jag ställt mig upp och stolen hade åkt iväg. Alla stirrade på mig. Jag vågade inte vända mig om för att se om Mitsuru också glodde. Jag samlade ihop mina böcker och vände mig till fröken Bengtsson.
”Ursäkta men jag tror att jag måste gå och svimma, kanske spy lite också.” Fröken nickade åt mig. Hon var för chockad för att säga någonting. Jag gick lugnt genom klassrummet och ut genom dörren.
Väl ute kollapsade jag mot ett skåp. Vad hade jag gjort? Skrikigt rätt ut i klassen. Mitsuru skulle hata mig och se mig som en fjolla. Jag skulle aldrig vara cool igen.
Jag stod ett tag och sörjde min förlorade manlighet och gick sedan till rektorn. Jag visste inte var jag skulle gå annars.

Jag slängde upp kontorsdörren, rusade in och slängde mig i en stol. Rektorn tittade inte ens upp.
”Vad är det nu som har hänt, Esaias?” frågade hon lugnt.
”Jag skrek just ut i klassen att jag var kär i Mitsuru.”
”Är det en ursäkt för att få komma hem, precis som när du sa att du hade mördat en kanin och var tvungen att gå och bikta dig?” Hon höll fortfarande ögonen på papperna framför henne.
”Nej inte den här gången” svarade jag desperat ”du kan fråga fröken eller vemsomhelst.”
Hon lyfte äntligen på huvudet och granskade mitt ansikte.
”Ja, du ser faktiskt lite blek och uppjagad ut” sa hon osäkert. ”Vänta ett tag så ringer jag fröken Bengtsson och frågar.” Hon tog upp luren och slog numret. Medan hon pratade med fröken så blev hennes ögon rundare och rundare. Tillsist så lade hon på luren.
”Ja du, Esaias. Du får lov att gå hem idag, men bara idag!”
”Hem?” sa jag hysteriskt. ”Jag får flytta till Antarktis och leva med pingvinerna resten av livet för att undkomma skammen.”
”Ta det lugnt nu” sa rektorn och klappade mig lätt på axeln. ”Gå hem och vila eller skejta, vad det nu är som du tycker är avslappnande.” Jag släntrade ut och gick hem.

När jag kom hem försökte jag slappna av lite men det gick inte. Jag hämtade min skateboard och gick ut. Jag höll på att slå ihjäl mig hela tiden, varför måste det vara is på vägarna i December? Skejtandet gick inte så bra så jag började gå hem igen.

När jag var några meter ifrån mitt hus hörde jag hur någon bakom mig ropade:
”Esaias vänta!”
Jag vände mig om och kollade vem det var. Naturligtvis var det Mitsuru. Jag började springa mot huset och han kom efter. Jag hann precis stänga dörren innan han kom ifatt mig. Han bankade på dörren och ropade:
”Esaias öppna dörren, kan jag få prata med dig?”
”Eh,nej” svarade jag stammande ”jag är jättesjuk. Det kan smittas.”
”Lägg av nu, Esaias” sa Mitsuru desperat ”ingen tror på dina historier ändå. Släpp in mig.”
”Nej, du kommer bara slå mig och säga att du hatar mig” kved jag. Det blev tyst på andra sidan dörren. Hade han gått? Jag backade sakta ifrån dörren. Plötslig slängdes den upp.
”Fasen också” mumlade jag ”jag glömde att låsa.”
Mitsuru stängde dörren bakom sig och började långsamt gå mot mig. Hans ansikte var helt oläsligt. Jag fintade och började springa in i vardagsrummet, men han var snabbare än mig och tacklade mig bakifrån. Han satte sig på min midja och vände mig uppåt.
Fasen, tänkte jag, fast.
”Va fan springer du för?” frågade Mitsuru.
”Jag ger upp” stönade jag ”du kan döda mig nu. Det är det enda sättet för dig att behålla din värdighet.” Jag blundade. ”Gör det snabbt.”
Mitsuru satt tyst en stund och böjde sig sedan ner. Jag förberedde mig för slaget, men det kom aldrig. Istället kände jag något mjukt mot mina läppar. Jag spärrade upp ögonen. Mitsuru satt där och kysste mig! Det var nästan för bra för att vara sant. Han drog sig undan.
”Du smakar asfalt” sa han lugnt. ”Har du legat och kysst marken eller?”
”Nej” sa jag tyst ”jag bara ramlade en massa när jag skejtade.”
”Jaha” sa han och flinade. ”Vill du ha en till?” Jag gjorde något omänskligt läte till svar, han fattade. Han böjde sig ner igen. Det var det bästa jag någonsin har varit med om i mitt liv.
Plötsligt drog han sig tillbaka. Jag försökte dra ner honom igen men han bara skrattade.
”Nu får det vara nog jag ska faktiskt till julkonserten i kyrkan. Min syster sjunger i kören. Du kan följa med om du vill.”
”Okej” sa jag lite surt.
Vi gick ut och började gå mot kyrkan. Plötsligt tog han min hand och jag tittade förvånat på honom. Han log och jag tittade generat ner i marken med ett litet leende på läpparna. Det här skulle bli den bästa julen i mitt liv.

Here's the final chapter of a vampire's revenge.

Chapter 4

Merton had a splitting headache. His whole head was beating and it felt like the whole world was upside-down. After some time he decided to open his eyes. He did and found himself staring at someone’s butt. Now he understood why everything felt upside-down, he was hanging from someone’s shoulder. That someone was walking and that was where the beating in his head was coming from. There was only one thing he couldn’t figure out, who was carrying him? His head wasn’t working as well as it used to.

The one who was carrying him was whispering with someone but Merton couldn’t hear what they were saying. He settled for watching the guy’s but and waiting for him to do something. Merton seriously thought this guy had too tight pants, and they were made of leather too. He was actually surprised the guy wasn’t squirming in pain. And he really shouldn’t let anyone come near it, especially not shove someone’s face into it.

Suddenly the man stopped and Merton was thrown to the ground. He clutched his hands to his head as the headache gave a nasty sting. When the worst was over he looked up to see who had captured him. Then the memory came flashing back, the vampires had come to his house.

“What do you want?” he asked as he slowly stood up.

“We’re vampires Merton, what do you think?” the lead vampire answered with a grin. Merton swallowed and tried to summon his manly, courageous voice that never seemed to work and said:

“Why me? I mean I’m pale and lazy, I almost never move or get out into the sun. I’m probably disgusting. Why not take some hot, blond chick? Lori for example.”

“Unfortunately Tommy Dawkins doesn’t like hot, blond chicks as much as he likes you. Why I can’t say, maybe it’s a werewolf thing” the leader answered.

“So you brought me here to get Tommy?” Merton asked sceptically.

“That’s correct” the vampire answered.

“That’s exactly the same plan you used last time” Merton said arching his eyebrows “you need to get a new smart guy in your group. If you even have one.”

Suddenly there was a hand around Merton’s throat and he was slammed forcefully into a tree. The vampire growled and shoved his face uncomfortably close to Merton’s.

“I’m the smart one in my group, and the plan works fine. It did last time didn’t it?”

“Well, actually we-“ the hand tightened around Merton’s throat “of course it worked perfect! Best plan ever! I don’t know how you came up with it!” Merton agreed in a hysteric high-pitched voice.

“I thought so” the vampire said with a smile “no one insults Randolph the great bloodsucking fiend!” Merton snorted and Randolph growled dangerously.

“I have a nasty cough” Merton said desperately. The vampire snarled but let him go.

“Just shut up and wait for your wolf buddy” he snarled and went to talk to one of the other vampires, who apparently had a problem with his inhaler.

Merton sighed with relief, at least it was over for now. His heart wasn’t made for these kind of things. The thought of Tommy brought a sinking feeling to his stomach. What was he going to do now when Tommy didn’t want to be his friend anymore? Merton didn’t even know why. Maybe Tommy finally had realised what a dork he was and had decided to move on. That was probably it. But still, Tommy shouldn’t have been so mean about it. He probably wouldn’t even show up.

Tommy stopped in the middle of the forest. He was getting closer to Merton. The problem was that Tommy didn’t know what the vampires smelled like; there could be ten of them for all he knew.

But Merton’s smell was tinged with fear and he really didn’t know what to do but charge right at them. Besides his motto was: act first, Merton thinks later. Why should it be any different now?

He sprinted towards Merton’s scent. He screeched to a halt when he entered a glade. Tommy spotted Merton sitting by a tree on the other side and wave of relief swept through him. Merton was alright.

“Well, well” a voice spoke beside him “the hero has turned up to save the day.” The relief turned quickly into anger as Tommy turned to see who had kidnapped Merton.

“Oh, it’s you” he exclaimed when he saw three familiar faces.

“What do you mean ´oh; it’s you´ with that ungrateful tone? You should be terrified beyond your wits!” Randolph snarled back.

“Why? We kicked your asses last time” Tommy said and turned to share a significant glance with Merton, but Merton just stared at the ground. Right, Merton was still mad at him because of the yelling. He’d forgotten in all the chaos. But he couldn’t think of all that now, he needed to kick this guys asses again.

“Shut up wolf boy!” Randolph barked now getting upset. “We won’t fail this time.”

“And what makes you think that?” Tommy asked in a cocky voice.

“We were outnumbered last time.” Randolph said with a smug smile.

“Actually, we were the ones outnum-“

“Can it Dawkins! Anyway, we won’t make that mistake again.” Randolph whistled and four vampires stepped out of the shadows of the trees and surrounded Tommy. Randolph nodded and his two companions joined the others.

Tommy swallowed. This did not look good, six to one. He wasn’t sure he could beat all the vampires at the same time, and he doubted that Merton could do anything from where he was sitting.

Randolph smiled. He clapped his hands and the vampires pounced. Tommy had no chance, he tried to fight back but they were too many. His arms were pinned against his back and he was forced down to his knees. Randolph laughed loudly as he strutted towards Tommy.

“How does it feel to be humiliated?” he taunted. “How does it feel to be thrown to the ground like a worm?”

“Probably better than being called Randolph.” Randolph’s fist connected with Tommy’s jaw. Tommy’s head twisted painfully to the side.

“You’ll learn your place wolf boy” Randolph said coldly. “You won’t be so cocky when you’ve watched your best friend die.” Tommy’s head snapped up to meet the vampire’s eyes. The cold hand around Tommy’s heart squeezed painfully again. Surely he wasn’t being serious. The vampire was too much of a wuss to really do it.

“If you as much as touch him-”

“What are you going to do?” Randolph interrupted with a scornful smile. “Growl at me?” The vampire laughed loudly again. Tommy searched his face desperately for any sign that Randolph was just playing a game, intent on scaring him and then leaving him there. He found nothing.

The vampire strolled over to the tree where Merton was sitting and barked:

“Get up, you geek.”

“I’m not a geek, I’m a Goth” Merton said offended.

“Who gives a crap? Just shut up and get eaten” Randolph said as he grabbed Merton’s arm and started dragging him towards Tommy.

“No but seriously” Merton pleaded “I have powerful friends!” Randolph snorted.

“The most powerful friend you have is kneeling on the ground right now.”

“I have other friends!” Merton tried desperately “I know a witch who can change her hair colour.”

“That’s Tonks in Harry Potter, smartass” Randolph said rolling his eyes. “Now, just shut up!”

He stopped a couple of meters from Tommy and turned his back to him. Merton was placed in front of Randolph.

“So that you can see his face” Randolph explained while looking over his shoulder.

Tommy didn’t think he’d hated anyone more than in that moment. His chest constricted as he met Merton’s terrified eyes. He tried desperately to get out of the other vampires grip but they were holding him too hard, he was afraid he would break his arms if he pulled more. What was he going to do?

Randolph grabbed Merton’s shoulders and bent over his neck. The smell of fear welled from Merton in waves. He let out a whimper and his body jerked as Randolph’s teeth penetrated his skin. A single drop of blood ran down the length of Merton’s neck.

Something in Tommy snapped.

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!”

With a violent thrash of his arms he was free. The six vampires threw themselves at Tommy to get a hold of him again. Slash, kick, claw, punch, knee, elbow and the vampires were lying on the ground bleeding.

Tommy turned towards Randolph and the fire that was his anger roared in his chest. Randolph had let go of Merton and was now slowly backing away.

“Let’s not get upset” he said his voice trembling. Tommy snarled and slammed him against a tree. He shoved his face close to Randolph’s and growled.

“I’m sorry, I’m sorry!” Randolph pleaded in a not too dignified voice. “We’re even now! We can both go our separate ways!”

“No one hurts Merton and gets away with it” Tommy declared with a snarl. A wave of disgust welled up at even the thought of it. “You will die here.”

“Wait I’ll give you anything! Just say-“ The sound of flesh being ripped apart filled the glade. Randolph’s head hit the ground and the body soon followed. There was a low rumbling and the ground opened under the body and swallowed it whole.

Tommy was left panting and staring at the ground. He could fell all the anger and energy draining out of him and then the slightly tingly feeling as he unwolfed.

He slowly turned to face Merton. The Goth was staring at the ground were the dead-undead vampire just had been while holding a hand against his neck.

“Oh, sorry!” he exclaimed as he hurried to Merton “I almost forgot!” He ripped a piece off his T-shirt and wound it around Merton’s neck. Tommy tried to meet the Goth’s eyes but he was staring firmly at the ground.

“Thanks for saving me” Merton said and started to turn away.

“Wait, Merton!” Tommy said and grabbed the other boys arm to keep him there “I need to talk to you.”

“There’s nothing to talk about, Tommy” he responded “I get it. You don’t want to be my friend anymore and you just came here to save me because you save everyone.”

“That’s not true!” Tommy protested “You’re my best friend, why do you think I hate you?”

“Well, maybe because you screamed at me at school. Maybe because you seem repulsed by my touch” Merton answered.

“But I’m not!” Tommy pleaded.

“Then why did you scream at me?” Finally Merton met Tommy’s eyes. This was it. Loose friend or probably loose friend. He went with the latter one.

“I’m in love with you.”

“What?” Merton stared at Tommy “What are you talking about?”

“I’m in love with you.” Tommy felt pretty relieved now he’d gotten it of his chest. “I screamed at you because I was afraid I would wolf out in front of you and you would realise what was going on. I thought you wouldn’t want to be my friend anymore.”

Merton was still staring at him like he didn’t understand what Tommy was saying.

“Stop joking around, Tommy. It isn’t funny” he said after a few moments.

“I’m not joking” Tommy responded.

“Yes you are” Merton said stubbornly.” Why would you be in love with me?”

“Maybe ‘cause you’re cute, fun, a great friend and always save my butt.” Tommy answered with a smile.

“You’re joking” Merton repeated.

“No, I’m not” Tommy said.

“Yes you are.”

“No I’m not.”

“Yes you are.”

This was starting to get on Tommy’s nerves.

“Fine, I’ll prove I’m not lying.”

“Wha-“ Tommy grabbed both sided of Merton’s head, thought for a second about what the hell he was doing and then dived for the Goth’s mouth.

A thrill went through Tommy’s body when their lips connected and the wolf gave an appreciating sound from within Tommy’s chest.

But Merton was as stiff as a board and Tommy didn’t want to disgust him. But exactly when Tommy was about to pull away Merton’s hand snaked up to his neck pulling him forward and Merton’s lips started moving against his. Tommy thought an inner organ just had burst from happiness. He let one of his hands move to Merton’s back and pulled him even closer.

When Tommy decided that he absolutely couldn’t hold on any longer without his lungs exploding and making a mess over Merton he pulled away. He met Merton’s blue gaze and arched a questioning eyebrow.

“I’ve kind of been in love with you from the start. At first I thought it was because of the werewolf thing, but the feeling stayed and I understood.”

“Why haven’t you said anything?” Tommy asked mourning all the time they could have been doing this.

“Pretty much the same reason as you had” Merton answered smiling a bit.

“How could I not notice?” Tommy said and frowned at himself.

“Well, you’ve always been kind of slow” that earned him a smack in the head from Tommy “and I’ve always been a great actor.”

“Riiight” Tommy commented sarcastically.

“I am!” Merton answered offended. “Beat the hell out of the I-have-a-rash-on-my-hand-thing.”

“Shut up” Tommy muttered and blushed. Merton laughed.

“Do you want to get home and have a movie marathon at my place?” he asked smiling.

“Sure, there are still a couple of hours until morning anyway” Tommy agreed. He paused for a while and then said:

“Can we make out on the couch too?”

Here's chapter three (it's kind of short).

Chapter 3

Tommy paced back and forth in his room. After the incident with the yelling and then the wolfing out Tommy had tried to chase after Merton. But the little guy was too good at making himself invisible when he really wanted to. Which Tommy thought was pretty skilled since no one else at school had spiky black hair. Tommy had just gotten out of the school when he saw the hearse driving away. He had cursed and ran home. And now he was here, not knowing what to do. He supposed Merton hated him now and he didn’t know if it would make it better or worse if he went to the Lair to apologise. It might be better if he waited until tomorrow so that he could come up with a convincing explanation and head over in the morning. But his skin was prickling like he would wolf out any minute, he was restless and the spear of guilt in his stomach dug deeper with every second. He decided to hell with the reasonable explanation, he could improvise some. And so he dashed out of the house.

When Tommy got to Merton’s house he was panting and he almost fell down the stairs leading down to the basement door in his hurry. When he’d gotten down the stairs safely he stopped to catch his breath. When he established that he didn’t sound like a perv watching porn anymore he knocked on the door. There was no answer. Not that he was that surprised.

“Merton open up” he yelled “I need to talk to you.” Still no answer. “Come on, I’m sorry! Can’t you at least hear me out?” There was still no answer and Tommy was starting to wonder if Merton was there at all. He was just about to knock again when he saw it. A small piece of paper stuffed in the crack between the door and the wall. He took it out and stared at it. There was a drawing of a wolf head on it and beneath there was a small text: to wolfboy. Tommy frowned, he didn’t think Merton had ever called him that. He unfolded the paper and found a short message: Meet us in Emerson forest at midnight or the small pale dude dies. Underneath there was a small picture of a smiling mouth with sharp teeth and next to it a droplet of blood. This had to be a joke Tommy reasoned. This was just Merton screwing with his head, and he was certainly not in mortal danger. But then the smell of blood and Merton mixed into one floated up to his nose. He wolfed out immediately. Merton was afraid of needles.

Tommy ran.

He ran and ran and ran as fast as he ever could. He was sure his heart would have burst if there wasn’t currently a cold hand of fear holding it in a death grip. And even though he pushed himself harder and harder he never seemed to get there. After what seemed like an eternity he arrived at the edge of the forest. Tommy stopped to catch his breath. He didn’t know where they were going to meet and he didn’t want to run into a trap. So he stilled his breath, focused on his nose and started searching for any trace of Merton’s scent. After a while he found a very faint trail on a narrow path leading into the forest. The trail was a bit old and the cold hand clenched tighter around Tommy’s heart. He let out a small prayer that Merton would be okay when he got there. He ran into the dark forest with the feeling that something would go wrong.

Chapter two

Tommy awoke to the sound of singing birds. He squinted at the beams of sunlight filtering down through the trees. Wait a minute, trees? He opened his eyes completely and sat up. He was in Emerson forest, how had he gotten there? Suddenly the events of the day before came crashing down on him and he groaned loudly. What was he going to do now? He seriously doubted he could meet Merton now and act normal. Well sure, Merton hadn’t noticed it but Tommy really needed some time to think.

He stood up and brushed of his clothes, they didn’t look too good from running through bushes and then sleeping in the dirt. Well he just had to get home and wash them. He looked down at his watch and startled. It was already half past nine! He was going to miss his biology test! He wolfed out and dashed towards the school.

Tommy got there just in time for the class to start and threw himself down into a chair in the back of the room. The teacher gave him a stern look but didn’t say anything. He could feel Merton’s eyes on him from the other side of the room, but he forced himself not to return the look. He had a feeling he might wolf out just by meeting Merton’s eyes. The teacher handed them their tests and Tommy stared blankly at the piece of paper. He would never be able to concentrate on it. Well, not that it was any difference from all the other times he had tests.

When the time was up Tommy sprinted up to the teacher’s desk, threw the test at her and then dashed out of the classroom as fast as he could. He heard Merton calling his name after him but ignored it and ran faster. The rest of the day he spent all his time trying not to see Merton at all, and it went pretty well until the break before last period. He was just slamming his locker shut and turned around to walk away when Merton stepped out of nowhere and blocked his way.

“Why are you avoiding me?” he asked glaring at Tommy.

“Um” Tommy said pressing himself against the lockers so that he wouldn’t loose himself in Merton’s smell or body heat. “Well I thought you’d be mad at me for leaving you yesterday.”

“If I was mad it would be me avoiding you, not the other way around” Merton said looking sceptical.

“Right” Tommy agreed laughing nervously “I guess I got it messed up.” Merton looked even more sceptical.

“Is there something you’re not telling me?” he asked staring intently into Tommy’s eyes as to read the answer there. Tommy pressed himself closer against the lockers and said in a little too high pitched voice for his taste:

“No, no. Absolutely not. You know me, no secrets at all, everything just comes flying out of my mouth anyway.” Merton tilted his head a bit to the side and said:

“I guess.” Then he noticed how Tommy was trying to become one with the locker and asked:

“Are you hiding something in your locker?” Tommy swallowed hard and shook his head.

“Really?” and suddenly there was an evil glint in Merton’s eyes. Tommy watched as Merton’s hands moved towards his stomach and his heart started racing like mad. Suddenly Merton’s fingers were under his shirt and moving and they were burning, burning against Tommy’s skin. A part of his brain acknowledged that he was laughing hysterically, another one just told him to enjoy and bask in the way that Merton’s skin felt against his. Suddenly another louder voice screamed at him that this had to stop, Merton would notice he liked it and nothing would ever be the same.

“Don’t touch me!”

The fingers disappeared from his stomach and he could breathe again. He looked up and startled. Merton looked like he’d been hit in the face. Suddenly it dawned on Tommy what he had just said. He stared at Merton in shock as the other boy’s eyes clouded over. He wanted to say something, take it back, but there was a lump in his throat and his brain had seemed to abandon all normal activity.

“Fine” Merton spoke instead “if that’s the way you want it. You could have just said you didn’t want to be friends anymore, Tommy.” And with a last furious glare he turned and walked away. Tommy was left at the lockers standing paralyzed with a look of horrified shock on his face. What had he just done? Killed their friendship without even telling Merton how he felt. How could a human being be that stupid? There was a spear of guilt eating away at his stomach and he fought hard not to throw up.

Someone bumped into him and he snapped out of his state of shock. He had to fix this. He started to walk after Merton but suddenly the wolf lurched forward and begged for release. Tommy could feel his arms cover with hair and he quickly ran into an empty classroom.

Why could nothing ever go right for him?

Merton was driving home in the hearse. He had successfully been able to ignore Tommy for the rest of the day. Merton sighed as he parked the car. He knew that Tommy would get tired of him sometime, but just not yet. He had at least hoped that he would stay the whole year. He stepped out of the car and headed towards the lair. He got in, closed the door and threw himself at the bed. He was now looking forward to a Friday night with a Star wars marathon without Tommy Dawkins.

Someone knocked at the door and Merton groaned.

“Who is it?” he yelled not moving from the bed.

“Male service” someone answered.

“Come in” Merton yelled and stood up. What had he ordered this time? The door burst open and behind it were three very familiar faces.

“Hello Merton, glad to see us again?” the lead vampire asked with a feral grin.

“Not really” Merton said as he pressed himself against the back wall.

“Well, you shouldn’t be either. Go get him boys.”

The last thing Merton remembered was a fist moving closer and closer to his face.

Here's my first big wolf on campus fanfiction ever. I haven't got it betad som there might be som errors.

Tommy didn’t know exactly when it had started. But he did know when he had noticed it.
He was in love with his best friend Merton. His sidekick, the smart one, the geek of the school, the president of the gothic fantasy guild, the senior that still got stuffed into lockers. At first he thought he must be wrong, wasn’t the wolf supposed to be all manly and macho? But it just sneered at him, gave him the simple advice jump Merton when he least expects it and then left him alone with his problem. He had no idea what to do. He didn’t think that Merton would leave him if he told him, but it would all change and get awkward. Tommy didn’t think he could handle that.
Anyway, back to the day that he realised what his feelings were.

It was a completely normal Saturday night. Tommy and Merton sat and watched The mummy returns on Merton’s couch. They were eating chocolate ice cream out of two bowls and Tommy was really enjoying himself. The duo had seen this movie countless times before but Tommy didn’t mind. Merton was a pretty special guy and it was quite entertaining watching him get worked up when there were something he liked or disliked. Besides it was a good excuse for Tommy to stare at him without it being weird. He really liked watching and touching Merton. He supposed it was because they were such good friends and he thought he was very funny sometimes.
He looked over at Merton who was staring at the screen in concentration. Tommy grinned at the sight and shoved another spoonful of ice cream into his mouth. So did Merton, but since his eyes were locked at the TV he didn’t notice when he smeared half of it over his cheek.
Tommy swallowed around the lump that suddenly had formed in his throat and stared at the streak. He got this strong urge to reach over and lick it away.
“Tommy?”
He snapped out of his state and found Merton staring back at him from a much closer distance than before. His face was about a decimetre from Merton’s face and his tongue had darted out between his lips.
“Is something wrong?” Merton asked “Is it the hair? ‘Cause I was kind off sceptical about it too. Does it look that weird?” He cocked his head to one side and looked at him with questioning eyes. Now Tommy was having a hard time hearing over his own heartbeat and he forced himself to calm down before he wolfed out.
“No it looks fine, Merton” he said his voice wavering a bit. To tell the truth he didn’t notice anything different about the hair. “It’s just that you’ve got some ice cream on your cheek.” He swallowed hard and reached out his hand to swipe it away with his thumb. He concentrated hard on not feeling the warmth and softness of Merton’s skin under his thumb, or the hot air hitting his wrist when he breathed. Too soon the smear was gone and he had to pull away, the wolf protested wildly.
“Thanks” Merton said and smiled one of his cute smiles and then went back to watching the movie. Tommy felt a tingling in his stomach from the smile and heat flowed up his face. He looked down to hide it and noticed he still had ice cream on his thumb. The wolf lurched and he quickly licked the ice cream of his finger. He glanced over at Merton but he didn’t seem to have noticed anything. He looked back at his hand again, or what had been his hand before and now had been replaced by a paw. Tommy shot up from the couch and hid his hand behind him. Merton looked up at him with a confused look.
“What are you doing?” he asked standing up.
“Erm…” Tommy said backing towards the door. “I think I better be going.”
“What, already?” Merton asked following him.
“Ehehehe, yes. My mom didn’t want me to come home late tonight” he said with a shaky voice. Merton frowned at the comment.
“It’s never been a problem before” he looked down at Tommy’s arm and frowned even more.
“Are you wolfing out?”
“Of course not! It’s just that I got a rash on my hand.”
“What kind of rash?” Merton asked and reached out to grab Tommy’s arm. Tommy jumped back and laughed nervously.
“It’s only an allergic reaction to the ice cream. You shouldn’t touch it in case it’s contagious.”
Tommy collided with the door and he desperately clawed for the doorknob. Merton was getting that worried look in his eyes and Tommy really needed to get out of here and cool down.
“Allergic reactions aren’t contagious, Tommy” Merton said and looked at him like he was going insane, which he probably was. Tommy finally got the door to open and he stepped outside.
“Right, see you Monday Merton” he said and then slammed the door in Merton’s very confused face.

Tommy ran. It was the only thing that made sense to him right now. The thoughts were swirling in his head as he tried to come up with a reasonable explanation for it. He figured it probably just was the wolf that was starved for some action and since Merton was the one present at the time he chose him. Or it was just the instinct to clean members of his pack with his tongue. Yeah, that was probably it! Well, except maybe for the fact that his heart had been beating like mad and he had thought that Merton looked cute. He was pretty sure wolfs didn’t have that kind of feelings about other males. Okay then, maybe he just really liked ice cream and his heart was beating because it looked tasty. That didn’t even make sense.

Tommy stopped and tried to catch his breath. He was exhausted from running and thinking. He usually wasn’t the guy trying to figure stuff out. That was Merton and he definitely could not tell him about this. Although, the truth was he already knew the answer to his actions. He was in love and his life could absolutely not get any messier than this. He slumped down onto the ground and tried to relax. He could deal with this tomorrow when he could think properly and his hand wasn’t tingling from where he had touched Merton. And so Tommy Dawkins fell asleep in Emerson forest.

Merton had no idea what had just happened. It seemed to have been a completely normal movie night. And suddenly Tommy had looked at him with that strange glint in his eyes, then he’d started acting weird and then disappeared. He said something about a rash, which probably was the lamest excuse Merton had ever heard. There was something wrong with Tommy and he had no idea what it was. Maybe it was because Merton had started drooling when the mummy came to life, but he’d wiped that away quickly and he had done far more disgusting things in front of Tommy. Then perhaps he was still mad at him because of the incident where he’d almost strangled Stacy with one of the chains on his backpack. But that was yesterday, besides it didn’t seem to go that well for them anyway.
Oh, that was it! Tommy was down because of Stacy and when he’d wiped the ice cream of Merton’s cheek he’d realised that he should be doing that with her and not some weird geek who drooled to movies. Well, that was pretty depressing.
Merton sat down on the couch and watched the final scenes of the movie. He scratched at the spot where Tommy had touched him and an involuntary shiver went through his body. He frowned but decided to let it go. He was probably just getting a bit cold. He changed into his pyjamas and went to bed. Merton fell asleep thinking that this would all be solved by tomorrow.

Title: Nightmares

Summary: Obi-wan have nightmares.

At first Anakin couldn’t figure out what woke him up.
He sat up in his bed and listened. Then he heard it, a soft whimpering coming from Obi-wan’s bed. He waited a bit longer incase it just was his imagination. When he heard Obi-wan let out an agonized “Master” he kicked the blankets off his legs and stood up. He walked over to the other man’s bed and knelt beside it.
“Wake up master” he said carefully “it’s only a nightmare”. He put a hand on his shoulder and Obi-wan jerked awake. For a moment he looked like he didn’t know where he was but then he laid his eyes on Anakin and let out a heavy sigh.
“Are you alright, master?” Anakin asked with obvious concern in his voice “what were you dreaming about?”
“I’m fine, Anakin” he answered silently “it was nothing. Go back to sleep.”
“Was it about master Qui-gon again?” Anakin asked without taking notice of Obi-wans order.
Obi-wan sighed again.
“Yes” he admitted weakly. He couldn’t quite look his apprentice in the eyes.
“It’s been a long time since you had one of those” Anakin stated.
“Eleven years” Obi-wan confirmed “now go back to bed Anakin.” He waited to hear Anakin’s retreating steps but instead his bedcovers being moved and then Anakin joining him on the bed.
“Anakin what are you doing?” he barked out in a pitched voice.
“I’m comforting you, master” he answered as though it was the most obvious thing in the world.
Obi-wan turned over to speak to his padawan face to face.
“I am a 36 year old Jedi knight, soon to be master” he said and raised an eyebrow “I hardly think I need any comforting.”
“But I do, master” Anakin replied with a playful smile ”otherwise you’ll just wait for me to fall asleep and then you’ll spend the whole night pacing and thinking and you’ll be dead tired tomorrow. And we can’t have that can we? It’s a big day tomorrow and I don’t think I would trust you with cutting of my braid in that kind of state, you would probably cut my head off.”
“I would not” Obi-wan said lamely, too tired to fight back.
He looked at Anakin for a moment and then reached out his hand, grabbed his braid and yanked. “You’ve been a good apprentice, Anakin. You’ll do well on the trials” he said with an affectionate smile. Anakin stared at him in shock for a moment. What on earth had conjured this? Obi-wan almost never gave any compliments. After a moment he regained his ground and smiled back.
“Well, everybody knows I’m in a class of my own, master. Of course I’ll make it” he said holding back laughter.
Obi-wan made a face like he didn’t know if he was going to laugh, look scornful, ignore him or just give up about him. Anakin laughed, he loved making Obi-wan make that face. Now Obi-wan looked like he had decided on scornful and Anakin hurried to say:
“And of course most of it is thanks to you, master” Obi-wan looked at him and sighed.
“I seriously doubt that” he said looking out into the distance “I was far too young when I took you on. It probably would have gone faster if it was someone else teaching you.”
Anakin frowned and looked intently at Obi-wan for a while. Then he put his forehead against Obi-wans and said forcefully:
“That’s just crap and you know it. You’re just as good as you’re supposed to be and I will never want another master than you. Qui-gon would have been proud of you. Do you understand?” Obi-wan gazed at him for a couple of seconds and then closed his eyes.
“If you say so, padawan.”
First Anakin didn’t think he’d gotten through to him, but then he saw the small smile tugging at Obi-wans lips and declared himself satisfied. He closed his eyes and focused on Obi-wans steady breathing. He had never had a friend quite like him.
